(a) A term that has come into popular usage to describe a variety of online activities that help people connect with each other, often using web 2.0 technologies.
(b) I use FaceBook and Skype actively to connect with friends and family, and have been a passive/recreational user of blogs, Flickr and YouTube in the past for both private and academic use, but I have not had an account or uploaded anything to Flickr or YouTube before.
(c) I am hoping to gain knowledge of a variety of social networks that I may be able to integrate into my personal and professional life.
It will be useful to have a working knowledge of web 2.0 technologies used in social networking mediums and to better understand the functions of these networks to understand what would best suit staff and client needs.
